Wendy Moffat
MANAGER
I am the behind the scenes person that takes care of the everyday items for the team. I enjoyed playing softball and volleyball in school. I love watching the girls play, grow and build character.
Kylie Hess
Assistant Coach
Hitting Instructor
Kylie was a 3-year varsity softball player at Fremd High School in Palatine, IL and achieved All-Conference and All-Area accolades. She had the opportunity to travel to Germany and Spain to play softball. Kylie held a head coaching position in 2018 for a 16U Chicago Team and led the team to their most successful season.
Kylie started school at SLU in 2016 and earned her BS in Exercise Science. Kylie is currently in pursuit of a doctorate of physical therapy. Kylie walked on to the SLU softball team as a sophomore and played until COVID ended her senior season in 2020.
Kylie has wanted to coach since she was a little kid. She loves helping athletes develop their softball skills. Her favorite part of coaching is when an athlete has an “AH HA!” moment and gets excited about softball again. A goal of hers is to help each athlete build confidence in herself so she can perform at her greatest potential.
Kylie is a great fit for the Blaze coaching staff as she has the same philosophy on positive player development and character building that is already a mainstay and a part of the Blaze mission statement.
Kylie brings an added level of personal experience from a HS and Collegiate level. She also is a source for the recruitment process in helping those players looking to play softball in College.
Jason Gobin
ASSISTANT COACH
Jason Gobin, a dedicated sports enthusiast and experienced coach, has mentored various age groups from 8 to 16 in the challenging and rewarding game of softball. Over his extensive coaching career, he has used his love for the game not only to teach the skills necessary for success on the field but also to instill important life values, helping to shape his players into well-rounded individuals.
In addition to his expertise in softball, Jason brings to the table an impressive portfolio of coaching experience in both basketball and soccer. His comprehensive sports background has shaped his approach, refined his teaching methods, and equipped him with the skills to guide young athletes in their development.
Jason's journey with the Blaze organization began on a memorable day at the KAA fields. Intrigued by the positive team dynamics and engaged coaching he observed during a practice session, Jason initiated a conversation with Coach Moffat, a key figure in the organization. Impressed by the community Coach Moffat had built, Jason sensed it would be a great environment for his daughter. His intuition proved correct, as she not only found a place on the team but grew to love the Blaze community.
Seeing the positive impact the Blaze organization had on his daughter, Jason expressed his interest in contributing to the team. When the opportunity to assist Coach Moffat presented itself, he readily accepted. Jason is now a proud assistant coach with Blaze, dedicated to helping young players advance their talents and foster their love for the game. He is deeply thankful for the opportunity to be part of an organization that enriches young athletes' lives, both on and off the field.

I pitched at Illinois Wesleyan University before transferring to Maryville University where I will be studying forensic psychology.
Coaching has been very fun for me as I love sharing my knowledge of the game with others. Blaze has given me a very positive experience with coaching so starting fall of 2023, I have decided to become an assistant coach at Parkway Central High School where I wil primarily by working with pitchers."
